Spain House renovations.
Description: Taking on the renovation of a historic building is a mammoth task. As the above house clearly displays, one of the biggest challenges in these projects is always the shallow roof line. The architect was hit by the dilemma of how to get enough sunlight to flood the interior with a feeling of openness. To achieve this, two factors had to be taken into account: first, paying homage to the impressive medieval stone facade, wrought iron balconies and secondly, configure the chaotic room distribution and layout - turning a medieval structure that was in ruin, into a livable family home.
